This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. - Isaiah 48:17 NIV

About Us

Psalm 68:11 says that “The Lord gave the word; great was the company of those that published it”. The Word of God has been published in different medium down through the ages. Moses heard God’s voice on the mountain top and spoke them to the children of Israel in the wilderness.  God instructed Moses write the commandments in tables of stone (Exo 34:1). God also told him to write various events in a book as a remembrance.  (Exo 17:14). We see the same command through out the ages. Nehemiah (Neh 9:8), Isaiah (Isa 8:1; 30:8), Jeremiah (Jer 30:2), Ezekiel (Eze 43:11) and Habakkuk (Hab 2:2) were all commanded to write the words of God in a book. In the New Testament, Paul, Peter, Luke, John and many other wrote down Words and instructions from God to individuals and groups so the truth of the Word of God would spread around the world. Many faithful scribes have been copying these scriptures into parchments to preserve it through the ages. The first movable type printing press at Gutenberg published the scriptures in volumes and started the great reformation. In modern times we have the scripture readily available to us to read, search and study in electronic format. As the Psalmist said God has raised a great company to publish His Word.

The tract ministry predates the printing press. John Wycliffe use this format to disseminate his teachings in the 14th century. The advent of the printing press, however, made this form of persuasive scripture distribution much more prevalent. Through the last few centuries countless people have been influenced by tracts. Hudson Taylor is just one of many that were brought to Christ through tracts. Many famous evangelists and teacher like Charles Spurgeon, John Henry Newman, Henry Edward Manning and Hudson Taylor wrote and distributed millions tracts. In America, the American Tract Society distributed tracts to new immigrants in Ellis Island, to welcome them to America and help them with the struggles of settling in this new world.

In the age of the Internet, we have an unique opportunity to distribute tracts to many millions. We have the technology to reach all the corners of the earth. The message of these electronic tracts can be effectively targeted to selected groups. https://eevangelize.com/ has been created with this express goal in mind by a group of developers who have been inspired to reach many through the new media. We have a hope that is firm and secure (Heb 6:19) and we want the people that are drifting aimlessly but surely to the gates of hell, to hear the good news of the Gospel and be saved from eternal damnation. Please pray that the Word of God which is Quick, Powerful and sharper than any two edged sword to penetrate the heart of the sinner to reveal the intents of his heart and bring him to repentance. (Heb 4:12). Please keep us in your prayers. If you would like to join our team please write back to admin@sweethourofprayer.net.

We offer our sincere thanks to church members of  The Pentecostal Mission  and New Testament Church for allowing us to use their tracts.
