IS YOUR NAME REGISTERED?

When you were born into this world, your parents registered your birth with the Registrar of births and deaths. Further, your name is registered in various other places in the world, as for instance,

  • When you are admitted to school
  • When you are recruited into a job
  • When you buy lands and houses
  • When you insure your vehicles
  • When you open a bank account
  • When you obtain a ration card
  • When you obtain a voter’s identity card
  • When you obtain an electricity connection for your house

If your name should be registered in so many places in order to live in this perishing world, then how about heaven? Is it not necessary for your name to be registered in heaven right now, if after your death, you have to live there in joy and peace through an incorruptible eternity? Yes, your name must be surely registered there right now.

What should you do for your name to be registered there? For your name to be registered there, you should be born as a member of the heavenly family of God. About this we read in the Holy Bible: “As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” (Jn 1:12). If you believe the Lord Jesus with all your heart and accept Him as your personal Saviour and Lord, you will become His child. It was He Who on the cross of Calvary took the punishment which you ought to have received for your sins, and died for you. He not only died but was also resurrected on the third day and is alive for evermore. If you confess one by one the sins which you committed from your young age, He will forgive your sins and will accept you as His child. He will fill your heart with His joy and peace. To those who were made His children in this manner, He said, while in this world, “Rejoice, because your names are written in heaven” (Lk 10:20). The names of those who receive the forgiveness of sins, believing the Lord Jesus are registered in heaven. Further, as the Bible says, “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin” (I Jn 3:9), the Lord Jesus grants to such the grace to live a pure life in this sinful world not committing sin anymore. Further, when the Lord Jesus died on the cross, He bore not only your sins but also your sicknesses. So those who believe Him can live a healthy life being delivered even from incurable diseases.

This being so, what is the end of those whose names are not registered in heaven? Concerning those things which are to happen to them on the day of judgment, after death, it is written, “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Rev 20:15).

The blood of Jesus gives you forgiveness – removing your sins. His cross gives you blessing – removing your curse. His stripes give you healing from your sicknesses. His death gives you boldness – removing your fear of death. Through the life of the Lord Jesus you will receive eternal life too. Your name will be written not on this earth, but in the book of life which is in heaven. Right today come to the Lord Jesus that you may receive the real peace and joy which the world cannot give, and also the privilege to enter into heaven after your death. Believing the Lord Jesus say the following prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I believe You and yield my whole life to You. Cleanse me and sanctify me by Your holy blood from all my sins. Accept me as Your child and register my name in heaven right now. Henceforth, through all my days I will live as Your child. Amen.”
